Autumn Beer Review tickets go on sale tomorrow through Ticketworks. The beer tasting will be held October 8 at Peavey Plaza in Minneapolis. We went last year and had a blast. Learned about Viking Brewery in Dallas, Wisconsin, which produces a number of great beers, very few of which are available locally.
Please take Jambo with you, he's still under the delusion that Pabst is actually beer!

, atPabst is one of those beers that only exist as a label now. I don't know how many times it has changed hands.
Frank Booth made that my favorite beer many years ago. I see no reason to change at this stage in life.
Oh, Jambo. It's okay to have a sentimental attachment to PBR, but for the love of god and your own body, don't ingest it!

PBR is the single greatest beer known to mankind. It has won awards. All of you are French communists (except for Jambo, who appears to like it) for disparaging its good name.

Viva la PBR!!!
By 1:02 PM
, atI think I front loaded my beer drinking by doing way way too much of it in college so that I do very little now. I'd be surprised if I have 20 beers a year any more and the last time I actually bought a PBR was at a blues bar in Chicago about 5 years ago when it just seemed like the right thing to do. I know this will kill Jerjo, and maybe Hammer too, but picking a favorite beer these days would be like picking a favorite, I don't know, car wax maybe. Just not something that takes up much thought. That said, claiming PBR as a favorite results in far more fun than actually drinking it.
In cp's honor the next time I attend Drinking Liberally I will order one. Lyle's must have PBR.
The Sponge family rarely purchases beer anymore. However, when we do, PBR and Shiner are the only two choices to make.

Frank Booth was right about -- what was it? -- Heineken?
If we followed David Lynch liquor recommendations, we'd all be drinking rum and sodas. How awful would that be?
Reading these comments about beer is like listening to nuns talk about sex.

I'll go wthi the coffee and cherry pie. Hold the coffee.
Jerjo, the difference is that this is free. The last time I listened to a nun talk about sex it cost me $1.95 per mnute.
Jambo, I know this town where you can get a cup of damn fine coffee and a slice of cherry pie. And the nuns look like Lara Flynn Boyle before she got all skinny and went nuts on the botox.
Hammer, if you want serious WI beer the two nationally recognized micros would be New Glarus (in of course, New Glarus) and Capital in Middleton.

Capital, of course, is from Middleton, just outside of Madison. I recommend the Autumnal Fire, which is a very limited released that should be available in a few weeks. For people who want to know what a PBR might've tasted like 100 years ago, the 1900 is an interesting quaff.
New Glarus, on the other hand, has little to recommend it. The Spotted Cow is utterly devoid of flavor. The Uff-da is a little better, but nothing special.
