Wrong national message
This is supposed to bring new people into the Democratic party? No deficits, took out Milosovich, stem cell research, Tom DeLay.
These are all good policies, but they are not selling points. These aren't gut issues; they aren't breakfast-table issues. More importantly, they aren't results. How about: "We are going to cure disease". I don't care if it's stem cell research or anything else. Let's figure out how to improve the health of our citizens and commit government resources to that end. Where can federal dollars do the most good to help people? Promise people that, don't hope Joe Six Pack remembers deposed Serbian presidents.
The obvious complaint to promising results is that you might not reach your goals. So what? The Democratic party hasn't taken a chance (or a stand) for far too long. It's time to discuss concrete plans to improve Americans' lives.
