Next stop, Iowa Writer's workshop

Posted by: Hammer / 1:22 PM

According to a Kossack, the Madison Area Technical College has made "America -- the Book" required reading in a contemporary literature course. One of the Daily Show's producers, Ben Karlin, has ties to Madison. He lived in the Highlander, a private residence hall, in 1989. The last conversation he had with the Hammer was memorable:

Hammer: "Wanna go Christmas caroling?"
Karlin: "No, thanks."

Hammer has always admired real investigative journalism. Therefore, he intends to call his grade-school companion, Matthew J. Herrmann, to ask whether he had to read Fahrenheit 451 while studying firfighting at MATC.
