Meanwhile, Republicans, who dominate most of the Arizona political world, say they relish their role as underdogs. Time will tell if they are bluffing. They are pinning their hopes against Napolitano on a big advantage in voter registration, some 2006 ballot measures that appeal to social conservatives and the belief that there's plenty of time for her popularity to dip.
"The governor hasn't done anything to ease the crisis of illegal immigration," said Republican strategist Nathan Sproul. "And Janet Napolitano is not willing to provide meaningful tax relief to Arizona's working families. Republicans have to make that a key issue."
Staton was sentenced to 54 months in prison for filling out fraudulent voter registration forms. Staton's intent was to acquire crack, not to corrupt the election. No one was denied the right to vote because of Staton's actions.
Meanwhile, Sproul will spend the next 54 months continuing to subvert democracy to his own narrow aims.
And Janet Napolitano is not willing to provide meaningful tax relief to Arizona's working families.
Wait a minute, since when does any Rethuglican get to use the phrase "working families"? They're actually stooping to steal phraseology from unions. Bloody hypocrites!

, atI can't believe Republicans get away with claiming that the only thing causing problems for working families is paying taxes. As if lack of health care, decent affordable daycare, and lack of good jobs are all problems that would disappear if we could only lower marginal tax rates a point or two.

Actually, when Napolitano was sworn into office in 2003, Arizona had the 14th highest tax burden. They now have the 21st highest. The Arizona tax burden has fallen a little bit, while other states have had to raise taxes due to reduced federal aid.
Since we all know that voting against a tax cut is the same as voting for a tax increase, declining to increase taxes must be the same as a tax cut.
