More on (moron?) evolution

Posted by: Jambo / 10:15 PM

Since Hammer and I both posted on evolution today I did some digging and came up with a couple older articles that I had forgotten about. They are both about “Intelligent Design”, the new tarted up version of creationism that is making the rounds these days. The first is a somewhat counterintuitive claim that ID is so obviously empty of any real substance that it is evidence that creationists have actually given up and that evolution has won the day.

The second is a more straight forward takedown of the bogus claims that ID makes and the flawed reasoning (and basic ignorance of evolutionary theory) of the academics pushing the “theory.” It is written by the always insightful Robert Wright (not to be confused with the sometimes insightful Clinton Labor Secretary Robert Reich). His book NonZero is one of at least a dozen great books that I am about 2/3 of the way thru. Just about every article of his I have read has been the sort that in the old days would have been torn out and saved. Why oh why couldn’t that open columnist seat at the NYT have been given to him instead of that wind-up cymbal clapping monkey John Tierney?

But most importantly, here is a link to buy a Darwin fish to put on your car.

If I were a single man, living in this town, I would have the T Rex eating a Jesus fish.

Is it really "Inteligent" [sic] design?

Typos happen, even in the most rigorously checked of art forms: blogs.

I only asked, because I Googled "Inteligent Design" and got back plenty of results.
