I'm just guessing we don't get a retraction

Posted by: Jambo / 4:30 PM

From Salon.com:
Democrats are demanding that White House adviser Karl Rove immediately retract and apologize for comments that liberals responded to the Sept. 11 terrorist strikes by wanting to "prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers."

"The one thing New York has had since Sept. 11 is unity," said Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y. "To inject politics into this and to defame a large number of people" is outrageous, he said. "It's not what New York and America is all about."

Rove, Bush's chief political adviser, said in a speech Wednesday that "liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers." Conservatives, he said in the speech to the New York state Conservative Party just a few miles north of Ground Zero, "saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks and prepared for war."

But of course they prepared for war against Iraq, a country that had absolutely nothing to do with 9-11. Oh yeah, and they immediately set about trying to convert the disaster to their political advantage including one official who declared it a great opportunity to push thru some really conservative judges. What liberals wanted to do was determine the root causes of the attacks so as to better prevent similar attacks in the future and effectively fight the perpetrators in the present. The Republicans didn't care about causes, hell they didn't even care who did it. They just wanted to send someone else's kids off to war for political gain. They people are total and complete bastards.

if enough of us add our two cents, i'd put a whole lot of money on getting a retraction:

I hope no one is holding his or her breath.

There will be no retraction or apology from Karl Rove because what he said only offends the far left. I believe the statements will resonate with most centerists and even those slightly left of center. We will see.

I'm a liberal, Sean. You think I want to bring Osama Bin Laden in for a therapy session?
