Taxes paid

City Pages has an interesting article about income shares and taxes paid. (I found the article via Minnesota Politics.) :
So in 2000, for example, the eighth decile of earners paid a share of taxes that was nearly 1 percent greater than its share of state income. The top 1 percent of earners, by contrast, contributed 4 percent less in taxes than its share of state income.
Unfortunately, it looks like the graph has an incorrect legend. More on this if I hear back from City Pages.
