In a week that has seen too much death and disaster brought about by nature and abetted by human incompetence is it completely inappropriate to feel a little wistful about the passing of Gilligan? Sure it was one of the most mindless shows in TV history (and that's really saying something) but aren't there days when it would be nice to watch an episode or two and think of simpler times? Is there anyone under 50 who can listen to the opera Carmen and not think of the musical version of Hamlet? Or who doesn't know how to translate "Pulu si bagumba"?
So tonight maybe share a coconut cream pie with 6 friends and be thankful you are safe and dry. And then make another donation to a Katrina relief group.
And of course, debate who was hotter, Ginger or Mary Ann
