Football is a tough game. Injuries are a part of it. But this just smacks of voodoo :
Green Bay Packers running back Ahman Green will undergo surgery to repair a ruptured right quadriceps tendon and will miss the rest of the season, coach Mike Sherman announced today.
...The Packers lost backup Najeh Davenport to a season-ending broken leg two weeks ago against New Orleans.
Meanwhile, Sherman said that receiver Robert Ferguson has a sprained lateral collateral ligament in his knee and would be sidelined two to four weeks. ... The Packers are down to three receivers on their roster: Donald Driver, Antonio Chatman and Jamal Jones.
You've gotta have heart. Miles and miles of heart. And hope. Hope that the Packers can pull of a Spurs. In the 90s, Spurs center David Robinson was lost for the year. The Spurts spiraled to the bottom of the NBA, won the first overall pick, drafted Tim Duncan, and came back to win a couple of championships. Here's hoping the Packers manage to lose enough games this year to draft a play maker next year to help turn the team around.
Given the state of things in Green Bay, that shouldn't be too hard.
They're getting their comeuppance.
While watching the Pack shamelessly run up the score against the hapless Saints I told REW that display of poor sportsmanship would bite them in the a**.
You just don't do that to the voodoo capital of the world.
Here's hoping the Packers manage to lose enough games this year to draft a play maker next year to help turn the team around.
That trick never works. I've been trying it with Washington for ten years now.
