Incremental improvements

Posted by: Hammer / 8:15 AM

A series of serious, incremental engineering improvements to wind and solar technology are all we need to begin relegating coal fired power plants to the dust bin. Terra Moya Aqua Inc. claims its new vertical turbine is 80% more efficient than the least effecient windmill-style turbines. That's puffery. But if the new design really is 8 to 12% more efficient than the best current competitors, it's a major advance.

The question is whether we wait for clean power technology to mature or we encourage it to mature.

Um, I'm going to go with encourage. Oh wait. Did you mean what should we do or what will we do?
