I took the Minnesota Purity Test, too. Test is here. I scored 28% Minnesota pure, which is higher than I'd like.
What, dear friends, is Minnesota about this:
Does your town have an equal number of bars and churches?
I lived in Northfield for a few years. As matter of opinion, it had more or less 0 bars and plenty of churches. (There are several places on Division Street that have a bar and a liquor license, but they all have full menus. I real bar might serve food, but is primarily a place to drink.) My mother's family is from the greater Slayton area -- I'm not sure where one could even buy a beer in some of those towns. To me, Minnesota is always a place where there are far more churches than bars.
The opposite would be Wisconsin, where you can't drive through the intersection of two county roads without passing at least two taverns.
Am I wrong in this? Are there places in Minnesota known for having equal numbers of bars and churches?
That doesn't make sense to me, either. But after reading the quiz I understand my parents a bit better:
"Do your daily meals consist of breakfast, dinner, and supper?"
Mom doesn't believe in lunch.
Have you ever said "you know, a guy could..."? No, but Dad always liked to tell you what "a guy" could do.
BTW I'm 58% Minnesota Pure.
