Tony Perkins' shell game

Posted by: Hammer / 8:25 AM

Here's a quote from the latest Washington Update from Tony Perkins of the FRC:

The media and most of academia would have you believe that the rest of America is following in their footsteps away from the sacred to the secular. However, the findings of one of the most in-depth surveys of religion in America, just released by Baylor University, dispute this claim.

Perkins links to this article in the Washington Times.

Here's the deal, folks. It's not people in the media and academia who are trying to convince people that America is becoming more secular. It's people like Tony Perkins who work tirelessly to try to convince the 95% of Americans who profess belief in God that the other 5% are trying to destroy their country. No one in Hollywood or Berkeley is trumpeting an assault on Christmas -- it's Bill O'Reilly and his ilk who promote such tales.
