Lest it be said we never have any thing positive to say about Republicans in general or Bush in particular I would like to point out that this week he has proposed doubling the amount the US gives to fight AIDS globally and has also released a plan for dealing with climate change. I think he is being genuine in his efforts to fight AIDS and will give him full credit for doing so, tho I'm sorry so much of the money is devoted to promoting abstinence alone as a method of prevention as many conservatives do. (What is it with those people and sex?) On climate change I think it is mostly lip service prior to an upcoming conference in Europe. I doubt he will pursue any serious efforts on the global warming front but I would be happy to be proved wrong.
Labels: AIDS, Bush, Global Warming
He signed the legislation to create the No Call List. But that's the only thing he's done right.
AIDS funding doesn't do any good if he won't give it to someone because they won't push abstinence as the only solution.
He won't do anything with global warming except try to set up some bogus cover story. Remember the "Clear Skies Initiative".

, atOn;y 7% is directed to abstinence only groups. That's 7% too much in my book but I'll still give him credit for raising the funding by what amounts to a rounding error in the Pentagon budget. I agree that the global warming talk is just that.
