He must not:
don’t expect people to cast votes according to their income. Democrats do as well among top earners as Republicans.
One need only scroll down this page to see that's untrue. Now of course I don't expect him to read anything I write. Heck, my wife and most friends don't, so why should he be any different? But couldn't he at least read what his colleague Paul Krugman wrote just a couple days ago, which is where I got the charts to begin with? Can I expect to see a retraction in his next column?

This is no doubt a part of their project to project their chosen image of liberals being some sort of distant elite whereas Republicans are friends of the common man. Not surprisingly it's a load of crap as these graphs, provided by some folks at Columbia University show. The results are for the 2004 presidential election and show how the electoral map would have looked if only voters in three different income segments had voted.
It's easy to see why Republicans try to suppress the votes of low income citizens. Republican policies tend to favor the rich. Democratic policies, not so much. And people generally vote accordingly. None of this should come as a surprise to anyone in the reality based community but as George Orwell said, "We have now sunk to a depth where the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men."
