Triumphalism
News that a high ranking Boy Scout official is pleading guilty to possession of child pornography does not make me happy. Of course it doesn't. The right consistently blames societal evils on liberalism: homosexuality, atheism, multiculturalism. If the left points out examples such as this, the right accuses the left of triumphalism -- of being secretly happy that this guy was hoarding child porn.Well, we're not. We are committed to the raising safe, healthy, happy, informed, thinking children. I'm happy this guy was arrested and remain committed to protecting, nurturing, and valuing all children.
And, of course, borrowing trillions and trillions of dollars from them so that a few of their grandparents can enjoy million dollar tax cuts.
