Victory a la Musharraf
Good news! Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf has "completely shattered" al Qaida in Pakistan. Now that victory is declared, he can bring Pakistani troops out of Waziristan.
Look for Bush to do the same this Spring. Iraqi prime minister Ibrahim Jaafari is calling for a quick withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq. General Casey has already said troops could begin pulling out in spring, 2006, despite the fact that few Iraqi defense forces are fully trained, the police have have infiltrated by insurgents, and attacks U.S. and Iraqi forces continue at an alarming pace.
Yep. Declare victory, bring the troops home, then blame the fledging Iraqi government for failing to secure the borders and keep the peace. Ignore the situation for a decade or so, then act surprised when a strongly pro-Iranian Shia theocracy decides not to sell any more oil to infidels.
