From Salon:
I eagerly await reaction from Libby Mae. Will it be, A. Liar! or B. Ooo, the lucky girl!?Rush Limbaugh seems intent on trying to bring down Bono: On his show on Tuesday, ...he claim[ed] that the U2 frontman has a mistress, despite being married for 23 years. When a caller asked how Rush could possibly know this, he said, "You people are just going to have to trust me on this"
AFAIK, Libby Mae has no impure feelings for Bono. He's almost classically handsome.
We demand legal advice on this matter. Does this count as slander? Can Bono sue?

Bono's a public figure, so he'd have to prove that Rush made the allegations knowing they were false. Even a reckless disregard for the truth isn't enough.
Then there's the question of damages. Are people not buying Bono's albums because of what Rush said?
Damn...I knew that. ConLaw 101. Is all of this Bono bashing on account of the Santorum not-quite-U2 fundraiser?

, atMust be. Bono has been working with the Bush admin on a couple issues. AIDS, debt relief, and so on.
bono is so stalked by his fans it is hard to believe he could be hiding a lady from us.
the mistress must be the edge :)

There have been rumors over the years linking Bono with former model Christy Turlington. But I doubt if Rush or his people are plugged into the really buried celebrity gossip to know that.

Hmm, the Bono/Christy Turlington thing would be a bit oogy, since I think he was supposed to give her away at her wedding (I think the wedding--to Ed Burns--was called off). I admire Bono, but if we're talking about impure feelings, I would have to say I am more of an Edge gal.

, atI knew it! I was torn between predicting The Edge or the drummer (is that Adam or Larry?, I can never remember). I eventually decided the drummer was a little too cute.
Larry - drummer.
Edge is known for being the nerd of the band. What can I say?

, atLarry Mullins Jr plays drums. Adam Clayton plays bass. And I hate U2. Except the 3-letter albums.
I'm sure I knew which was which at some point, but I have not bought anything of theirs since Rattle and Hum so I have kind of lost touch with the band. I don't even think I got a Christmas card from Bono last year. I do have both the Boy and War albums (and I do mean albums) and they are still my favorites.
Look at Jambo and me agree. I like Boy and War, as well.
But you bought Rattle and Hum? "Edge, play the blues". That one? Loser.
Like I said, that was the last one I bought. It is U2 at their most pretentious. That said I do remember some songs on there that I liked (it's been a decade since I listened to it). I seem to recall one with BB King and a cool version of Bullet the Blue Sky. And of course I liked them talking about the Beatles.
