Jealous John Madden
The Packers have a new head coach, Mike McCarthy. Sadly, he looks like a goober:
Vikings fans who only watch Monday Night Football once a year like to think John Madden has a secret love for Brett Favre. Wait until they see McCarthy's previous closeness to Favre:
(By the way, the kiss photo was taken after the Packers beat the Vikings in Green Bay in 1999. I've still got that game on tape, if anyone wants to borrow it.)

I am a little concerned about this choice. I also thought he looked like one of those shlubs on one of those ABC "comedies." Also, it appears this move will probably force Jim Bates out, as he is ticked over not getting hired for the top job. I am starting to think we have a bigger mess on our hands than we did before Sherman got fired as GM. But I'll try to be optimistic.

I assume Bates is gone. It's not just getting passed over, it's getting passed over for a guy with less experience.
I saw this article in a San Fran paper: they can't believe McCarthy was promoted:

It is not only Vikings fans who feel Madden has special feelings for Fav-ruh. I watch most MNF games, and it is chubby city when Big John is doing the Packers, much more so than when he does any other team.
That being said, the Vikings suck.

Did you watch Madden call the Patriot playoff game. His chubby for Tom Brady was obscene (that said, clearly Tom Brady is a lot better QB than Favre right now.)
The only thing to do is to force someone to transcribe Madden's comments for an entire season. Sadly, I'm opposed to torture, so I wouldn't be comfortable asking anyone to degrade themselves in such a manner.
At least he doesn't have a lame mustache.
