Ba Ha Ha sent this article a short bit ago. A couple days ago a high school boys hockey team beat the U.S. Women's Olympic team. It's a little disappointing for supporters of women's athletics, but bear in mind that the folks in Warroad take their hockey very seriously. I don't know anything about Minnesota high school hockey, but I know that Warroad is always good.
I don't think it's really all that disappointing. Warroad is always wickedly good, especially on home ice. What was disappointing for me was the media coverage that either didn't understand that high school hockey isn't just some dinky little thing, or made the "battle of the sexes" out to be some sort of titanic clash. It's not - I believe the Canadian Olympic team is actually playing a whole season in a men's league to prepare.
I'm not sure who else they could play. Women's Division 1 teams, but there aren't too many of them with free dates.
