If you haven't seen it yet, Makeover Mark Kennedy has a new commercial available for download. Here's the key message: Kennedy is not a "party guy". He's independent.
Well, he's at least 5% independent:
That will be a delicate task, given that [Kennedy] has long been considered a Bush loyalist with a better-than-95-percent record of voting with the president.
The commercial is hilarious. Seems he is going for ads similar to Russ Feingold's from his first few senate runs in WI: trying to be quirky and funny. It seemed natural from Russ, but a bit disingenous from Mark. Also, I love the little snark about lawyers. Only took him about 20 seconds to say something negative. But I guess that is what you should expect from somebody who had no qualms about smearing Patti Wetterling. I wonder when his first ad containing 9/11 imagery will air--my guess is about September 1st. On the other hand, Klobuchar's ads have been very positive. Sure hope she wins.
