I don't have much to say about Ned Lamont's victory in the Connecticut primary. Among other things, Lieberman is promising to run as an independent, so this marks more a beginning than an end.
Lieberman lost the vote, but he won the expectations game. Handily, at that. At one point this summer, Lieberman had a 46 point lead over Lamont. Yet some are disappointed that Lamont won the primary by only 4 points. That's a 50 point swing -- Lamont won the hearts of half the electorate in a few short months. That's an astonishing turn of events.
Doesn't make much matter than Lieberman closed the gap down the stretch.
Now we will see if the money for Joe dries up. Given how much he spent trying to win the nomination, he's going to need an infusion of cash. If traditional Democrat cash cows stay away, he's going to be faced with running a very low profile campaign.
