A little natural selection in Kansas

Posted by: Jambo / 11:36 AM

This is a small piece of good news:

Kansas voters on Tuesday handed power back to moderates on the State Board of Education, setting the stage for a return of science teaching that broadly accepts the theory of evolution, according to preliminary election results.

I'd like to think the tide had turned against the creationist mutton-heads but these things come in waves so I'm sure this is temporary. (Is it still a mixed metaphor if both parts are about water?) The sad thing is that there is probably still enough pressure from folks on the local, or even classroom, level that many teachers just avoid the evolution topic anyway.
