Does he have a prayer in the SD governor's race?
I was back in my home state of South Dakota over the weekend (more on that later) and had to snicker at the billboard I saw for Republican Mike Rounds. I suppose a halo would have been a bit much.
Yeah, I get it, he's a good Christian man. It was all good giggling, eye rolling fun until it dawned on me that it was probably going to be pretty effective with a awfully large chunk of the SD voters.

I don't think that it'll be effective for the reason you say. The message is simply "I'm running again." In 2002, he won by 1) being a Republican and 2) NOT being either of the astoundingly annoying duo Barnett and Kirby. This time, all he needs is point #1.
