Yet another thought on Alberto Gonzales as manager. In early December, Kyle Sampson offered an explicit plan to deceive the U.S. Senate about the appointment of Tim Griffin. That plan was suggested in mid December. Sampson's email is dated December 19, 2006, but the plan did not reach Gonzales immediately.
Sampson's plan was to try to convince the Senate to accept Tim Griffin's appointment. If the Senate would not confirm mislead the Senate. To feign "good faith" and "gum [the process] to death".
Sampson was advising Gonzales to mislead the Senate. Shouldn't Sampson have been fired that day? Why did Gonzales wait for the shit to hit the fan 3 months later before showing Sampson the door?
