Nevada says yes to clean elections

Posted by: Hammer / 7:42 AM

The Las Vegas Sun reports:
The committee also passed AB455, a catch-all bill that, among other things, will move the state's primary election up from early September to mid-August in even-numbered years. Originally the bill proposed to move the primary to late June. ...

The measure also will now require people who pass out voter registration forms and then collect them to mail in to local election officials. They'll have to sign a receipt so the new voter has a record of accountability.

The change seeks to clean up problems from last fall's presidential election, when allegations of voter fraud were brought against an Arizona-based GOP operative who ran a voter registration drive in Nevada.

Some former workers for Voter Outreach of America, run by Nathan Sproul, said they were told to register only Republicans. Others said completed Democratic registration forms were thrown out or ripped up.

Gee, why wouldn't discredited Republican strategist Nathan Sproul want to comment on that?
