This is not a popularity contest. Well, actually, it is.
Not quite sure what to make of this list of approval ratings for all 100 Senators. There could be a number of reasons why Republicans are 16 of the 20 lowest ranked senators and only 6 of the top 20 but I doubt that any of them are good news for their party. What's more, the top Rs are the two moderate women from Maine and maverick John McCain. If I had some free time I might go thru the list and see who is up for reelection next year and start makingUpdate: Kevin Drum has more blogging time than I do. Senators up for reelection.
There are 9 of them with approval ratings at 50% or lower and 6 of those are Republicans. Dayton, who is not going to run again, is one of the three Democrats.
