Respect and sincerity
For a far more respectful account of the Walnut Creek tourist experience, check this out. There's a video and everything. The video covers the pageant, the homestead site, and the museum. The video gives the impression that there are features at the homestead site which aren't (like standing buildings), but is otherwise a sincere family trip. I found the link via the great MN Speak.
Nice balance to my little travelogues, which are no more sincere than Lermontov's.
