I had my suspicions
Guess what? Woman created from man's rib. Not actually true. Painful childbirth because Eve was beguiled by a serpent? Also, not true.
And it's not just me saying it, it's a group of Catholics. The Catholic Truth Society has published the Gift of Scripture which explains the Dogmatic Constitution on Divine Revelation. They conclude, and teach, that the Bible is not entirely, literally true. No word yet on the Great Flood, which I find personally disappointing now that I am expert.
