Kudos to Lockstep John Kline, Gil Gutknecht, and Makeover Mark Kennedy for voting to cut vital services to children in Minnesota:
ÂSome news stories are showing that the cuts in Medicaid are going to be mostly in the area of welfare, said Lee. ÂBut IÂm also very concerned about the Family-School Support Worker Program because itÂs an early intervention/prevention program that allows many issues to be dealt with so the teachers can teach and the schools can focus on education. We have lots and lots of people who have been helped by those programs..... ItÂs not just deep-end families who are barely scrimping by who stand to be hurt by these cuts.Â
Generally, each month the family/school support workers come into contact with some 250-300 kids and their families throughout the county for a myriad of situations.
Kline, Gutknecht, and Kennedy are the only three members of Minnesota's congressional delegation to put tax cuts for the wealthy ahead of direct help for Minnesota families.
