As it turns out, Democratic House candidates nationally received roughly 54% of the total votes cast for Democrats or Republicans (other parties are excluded from the numbers). Democrats appear to have taken control of 53% of the seats in the House.

Not only do Democrats have to win in November, they have to beat the spread, which runs from -7 to -10, depending on who does the math. Just one more factor to consider come November 8.
