When a conflict gets to the point where American soldiers complain that they are not allowed to kill little kids it is likely past the point where we are doing their country any good.
I can sympathize with the stress and frustration our troops must feel when confronted by a hostile populace everyday but this is too much. It's time for them to come home.
(I'm reminded of Steinbeck's The Moon is Down, his under appreciated story of how occupation damages not just the occupied but the occupiers as well.)
