The Religiously Correct have no sense of irony:
The president of the Women's Alliance for a Democratic Iraq says she's alarmed that the proposed Iraqi constitution could impose Islamic law on everyone. Basma Fakri says establishing Islamic law could result in forced marriages of prepubescent girls. "This has been used and abused under the name of Islam," she says. "Certain Islamic sectors allow for the marriage of girls as young as the age of nine. Some Shariah interpretation would allow for a guardian to force marriage on a girl against her will."
No country should impose religion on its citizens. Religion should always be a free, personal choice. Why do the Religiously Correct agree that Iraq shouldn't enshrine Islamic law in its constitution, yet demand that their version of Christianity be endorsed by the United States constitution?
