Making reasonable presumptions

Michael Kinsley has a very good column on the presumption of innocence. He rightly points out that "innocent until proven guilty" is a valid fiction for a criminal trial but for everyone outside the jury box it is perfectly appropriate to look at known facts and say, "Oh yeah, he did it all right."
