That liberal media strikes again: WaPo
Greg Sargent notes that the Washington Post failed to provide the text of Kerry's prepared remarks. The full text is actually quite clear about the nature of Kerry's joke (it's still not very funny):
Mr. Kerry said that he botched a joke that his aides said had been prepared as follows: “Do you know where you end up if you don’t study, if you aren’t smart, if you’re intellectually lazy? You end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq. Just ask President Bush.”

In the video clip, you can see Kerry glance down at the podium as he tries to tell his joke. That's the peril of staff prepping these figures with humor when they really aren't funny people.

Are you saying we need funnier people to run for senate? It couldn't hurt. And I bet we might find someone in Minnesota in 2008 who agrees.
