Guys like sports

Oh, come on. No one Ahman Green winds up with a criminal conviction on this charge. Cut to the chase, already: plead it down to an ordinance violation, pay the maximum fine and move on. We all see it coming.

I don't know if we have any Hawkeyes in the readership, but Bo Ryan just gave Steve Alford yet another facial:

The fact that Ryan and his staff snatched a prospect who grew up a short drive from Iowa City and whose father played quarterback for Iowa's 1981 co-Big Ten Conference championship team won't help Iowa's image.

UW and Iowa reportedly offered Bohannon a scholarship after his sophomore season and the Badgers eventually won the head-to-head battle.

Iowa has done such a poor job of recruiting homegrown talent, this recent episode is not surprising. If you have been watching the NBA playoffs, you have seen players from the state of Iowa (Kirk Hinrich, Raef Lafrentz, Nick Collison) who did not attend the University of Iowa. Alford has not stopped the bleeding.

It doesn't matter because football is the new basketball.

If your site is going to live up to its namesake, shouldn't you have another guest blogger? Perhaps a female with a cheerleading background from, I don't know, North Dakota? Or pick a dude, it is your world, Hammer.
