, atIs Cheers on DVD yet? It would seem that this one might sell a few copies.

The combination of TV on DVD and Netflix has made me very sedentary. I have gotten so large I wash myself with a rag on a stick.
The first season of Larry Sanders is available, but it may have been a one-off release. If so, the absence of the remainder of the series on DVD is wrong.
Homicide is available, seasons 1-7 (and that is a great show). If you like that, check out The Wire as well.
Look at Hammer now, he is walking on air, he never thought he could feel so free-eee-eeee...Connie Seleca is an American treasure.

Jason Bateman is big, but not big enough to bring back It's Your Move. Maybe they could package it with Silver Spoons.
I never got into Coupling. Saw in on BBCA a few times. You know how I like the soft core raunch, but it seemed like they relied on it in place of being clever.
Where is Perfect Strangers? What I wouldn't give to see Balki Bartokomus's (sic?) hilarious bowling style once more before I die. What was the name of the fake country he was from? Was it Meatpost, or something like that?
By 8:47 AM
, atOh, Perfect Strangers. I think the show was better before they moved into the apartment over the store. When Balki and Larry were putting the moves on their stewardess neighbors all the time. My two favorite episodes of all time are the "price check on pig snout" and the one where cousin Larry meets his photographer idol and finds out that the guy didn't get the right shot once because he had left the right lens in the trunk of his car.
Mypos. It was an island country. I particularly enjoyed the Dance of Joy.
By 9:27 AM
, atAh, yes, the Dance of Joy. Bronson Pinchot's finest television moment.
Meatpost? Juan, Juan, Juan you foolish boy.
That show also had a very catchy, GMH-style themesong (very white with soaring vocals). On my way...
By 9:52 AM
, atI have adopted the W pronunciation of America, "'Merica", which would make the Greatest American Hero the Greatest Merican Hero. GMH.
By 9:55 AM
, atGosh, it sure sounds like Meatpost when you are 11 years old.
By 9:58 AM
, atWhat does an 11 year old boy know about meat posts? Unless he's had a few overnights at Neverland?
I know at least the first season of Twin Peaks is out since I was looking at it at a used CD place just the other day.
Should I be in any way disappointed that the only threads that seem to get lots of comments are the ones about crappy TV shows? (Twin Peaks excepted)
Huh. Jambo is right. Season 1 is available, but that's it. It even includes director commentary. Ms. Hammer would know better, but I thought David Lynch was refusing to do commentary for any of his work.
Speaking of David Lynch, and in effect, changing the subject to film: Mulholland Drive is a borderline classic--and yes I would still say that if the hot nude scenes were not there. Blue Velvet and Wild at Heart are great too. Is Lynch working on anything new? And guys, sorry for "popping up" your blog.

Ms. Hammer has dragged me to about every Lynch film since she first saw Twin Peaks. I haven't understood any of it, except Robert Loggia's part in Lost Highway.
And, of course, you're often safe paying no attention to Jambo.
The Straight Story is also a fine Lynch film.
Don't worry about Jambo, Juan. He doesn't even own a TV, so he can go to hell. He is a big fan of Land of the Lost (which is being developed for a Will Ferrell film) and other early 70's crap more appropriate for his age group. Did I mention that he is old?
By 11:54 AM
, atLynch has indeed refused to comment on the meaning of his works. I suspect that the director commentary on the DVD is from the other directors, of which there are many. If Lynch and Frost have something so say, however, I may just soil myself.
By 12:02 PM
, atLeave it to Ms. Hammer to take the low road.
I loved Land of the Lost. In fact, I spent an entire afternoon working on a book called "Project Sleestack" which was meant to be a Guiness Book of World Records-style argument-ender for 1970s pop culture stuff. It all started with an argument over what the monsters were called in Land of the Lost.
Ooo, I can think of one thing from the early 70s that I am not so fond of...
The cake at your 15th birthday party?
Not unless that cake has been posting with a one letter pseudonym
This comment is only to pad TWN stats. Twenty-five comments for a post will be the record.
Consider this my Brett Favre "whoops, I have fallen" post, Hammer Strahan.

, atAnd this is my congratulatory half-hug, football-style. Sorry, no fanny pats.
So what was the topic for the previous record? Fiscal policy? The crisis in Darfur? Reform of Social Security? Please don't tell me it was a Melrose Place reunion show or some such thing.
I would pay $10 for a DVD copy of the first "Slow Donny" episode of Just Shoot Me, and I would pay another $5 if it would ensure that episode was the only one on the DVD.

David Cross is a genius. He is instant credibility.
I don't know what the previous record exactly was, but it's a lot less than 29.
David Cross's last two comedy albums--available on Sub Pop records--are hilarious. Squagles anyone?
